Are you washing your hair... correctly?!

February 7, 2018

Hi everyone, I bet you're thinking "this girl is crazy!!", and you know what, I'm not going to deny it..I am crazy!! Yes I am asking you if you're washing your hair correctly as this is something so many of us get wrong and it's really so simple. If you want to be able to recreate the hair you have when you leave the salon chair then you need to be doing what the proffessionals are doing!!

Step 1

Wet the hair all over, apply shampoo to the scalp and massage over the whole head ( if you use a foaming shampoo you may find the first shampoo doesn't foam so much, this is normal) then rinse.

Step 2 (The most important step for that salon feel)

Shampoo the hair AGAIN, apply the shampoo the same way you did in Step 1 but this time leave it on for 1-2 minutes before rinsing it out. (You will find if you use a shampoo that foams it will foam more for the second shampoo) The reason we do two shampoos is this-the first shampoo is just getting rid of any dirt and grime build up, the second shampoo is going to actually open the cuticle, and leaving it on for 1-2 minutes allows the vitamins and nutrients to penetrate in to the hair shaft.

Step 3

Apply your conditioner from mid-lengths to ends,(don't just dump it on to the crown of your head) without applying more conditioner use your hands and give your scalp a massage which will be enough product for the roots, depending on your hair type and hair needs will depend how long you leave your conditioner on for. The more dry and damaged your hair the longer you can leave it on, the less dry and damaged the quicker you can wash it off.

You don't need to be putting a lot of conditioner near the scalp as your natural oils keep that area moisturised!

***Quick  tip*** this is espescially important for those long hair beautues and kids hair, before getting your hair wet, give your  hair a good brush through to make sure there are no knotts. You will find this helpfull for ounce you have finished washing the hair, there shouldnt be to many tangles to get through.
